The solution had to accomedate the complex nature of genetic information – where relationships between data points are intricate and multifaceted. Moreover, the platform needed to support secure data collection, accurate validation, and seamless sharing, all while complying with the latest genetic data standards.

To kick off the RxOME platform project, we first conducted a detailed assessment of the needs and challenges encountered by MGZ München. Using the powerful Ruby on Rails framework, we designed a dynamic database capable of managing complex genetic relationships and evolving with future advancements in the field. Users input data, which is validated by moderators before being publicly searchable, ensuring accuracy. 

The web application offers organized data presentation with intuitive search and filter options. A user-friendly input mask allows registered users to add or edit entries, while a role-based access system controls permissions and maintains data integrity. 

Adhering to international standards like those from the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, the platform supports seamless API integration for broader data sharing and compatibility.
